We are pleased to announce the University of Oklahoma Esports Club Camp Featuring: Rocket League. Immerse yourself with top level instruction at this week long virtual camp. With curriculum designed for beginners to intermediate players, the OU Esports Camps staff guides you through drills and strategies in a fun and competitive environment. The comprehensive training approach provides players with a number of tactics and tools that they can utilize to improve their gaming skills, while building important life skills that extend beyond the game.
Why this camp? Why OU?
The Rocket League Esports Program at the University of Oklahoma is an established and respected team of individuals that play at the highest level of Rocket League. This camp is designed to provide high level rocket league coaching for all skill levels while still keeping it fun and engaging for everyone. This camp will be divided into two groups based on skill level so that players can receive training more catered to their current skill level.
What to Expect:
This camp is designed for players that are looking to improve their own gameplay as well as their ability to perform within a team. That being said, we understand that not every player’s goal is to become a professional esports player. We only ask that players take this camp seriously so that those who are passionate about reaching the highest level of Rocket League are able to learn in an efficient manner.
We expect players to come to camp ready to learn and engage with the curriculum. There will be drills and exercises that are designed to be fun, but there will also be times when a more serious manner is required.
Skill Level Breakdown:
This camp will consist of two different skill groups based on rank. We feel it is in the best interest for everyone if the curriculum of this camp is divided into 2 groups because we do not want to overload beginners, nor do we want to bore advanced players.
Intermediate - <Bronze I - Platinum III>
Advanced - <Diamond I - Grand Champion>

Hello! My name is Kai Simonton! I am the Head Coach for Rocket League at the University of Oklahoma and have the skills and experience to help you evolve into a more complete player. A few of these experiences are:
"Our son William absolutely loved it and gained more confidence with his gaming during this week of camp. He really enjoyed spending time with people who had the same level of interest that he has for esports. It also opened his and our eyes to what is involved in playing and/or training for esports."
"I had a super time at the Esports Camp! Lovely to meet so many people IRL, and geek out with our next generation of leaders and changers in the space."
"The gaming was great because I had people to play with and I got to try new things. Our coach(Sidney) was nice and a good coach and got along with everyone and the overnight stay part was ok"
"Apparently his coach helped him with a mistake ritual. I am so thankful as this will help the screaming decrease. Ha! He improved high ground re-takes, game sense and side jumps and I have no idea what any of that means. So thank you!"
"I really improved on my team communication skills. This was my first real competitive experience, and I think it was a lot of fun, and very valuable. I really enjoyed working as a team, and cooperating with others to reach our goal."
"My takeaway from this camp was how health and other activities play a role into video games. I also loved learning from the Cavs coach and what his daily routine is like."
"I learned how to work with my overwatch team much better than I could have without camp."
"This was awesome everybody was very nice and they helped me understand the game better"
"Rambo was very knowledgeable about things you can do outside of the game like stretches and your mindset, not just in the game. My overall gameplay became better because of that."
