We are pleased to announce the University of Kentucky Esports Club Camp Featuring: Rocket League. Immerse yourself with top level instruction at this week long virtual camp. With a curriculum designed for beginners to intermediate players, the staff guides you through drills and strategies in a fun and competitive environment. The comprehensive training approach provides players with a number of tactics and tools that they can utilize to improve their gaming skills, while building important life skills that extend beyond the game.

As a camp participant, you will work with Camp Coaches to learn how to best capitalize on offensive and defensive strategies, learn when to pass over shoot, and when to get back on defense. You will develop and perfect strategies with teammates. The camp will also focus on specific strategies that will allow you to tailor your playing style to different game plans:

  • Improve understanding of rotating properly
  • 2v2, 3v3 & 4v4 with VOD analysis
  • Perfect your ariels and and air dribbles using the handbrake for drifting
  • Learn when it is best use your boost


The University of Kentucky Rocket League camp is designed for players of all skill levels looking to take their game to the next level. All platforms are welcome (Xbox, PC, PS4, Switch, etc.) Camps sessions are broadcast each day of camp (August 3rd-7th) from 3pm-5pm PST/5pm-7pm CST/6pm-8pm EST

Camp is offered through Discord video call and will only be available for those who register. Campers work directly with the coaching staff on all tips, tricks, and scrims.

Camp will also offer demonstrations of physical exercises & techniques you can use to keep your body in peak performance.

SAMPLE DAILY  SCHEDULE in CST:

3:00pm: Introduction and Warmup

3:30pm: Expectations

3:45pm: Guest Speakers

4:00pm: 2v2 Breakdown/Practice, Coaching/Strategies

4:30pm: 3v3 Tournament

4:45pm: Wrap Up and Day Review

5:00pm: Cool down + dismissal

Esports Camps Coaching Staff

Our network of trained coaches have experience and rank in the top percent of their game. Our coaching staff will help your team improve and works with each camper to ensure that they leave an improved gamer. Our coaches are trained to be positive, enthusiastic, supportive, trusting, focused, goal-oriented, knowledgeable, observant, respectful, patient and a clear communicator.

Professor in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kentucky

Dr. Stuart Best

Dr. Stuart Best is a Professor in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kentucky. He has worked with a number of professional and amateur sporting teams as a sports scientist and performance analyst. He has also conducted research on the effects of sleep on physical function and performance, as well as ways to optimize adaptations to exercise training in athletes, military personnel and the general public. Dr. Best grew up mostly playing sporting-based games including FIFA, Madden and Formula 1 racing, but he is now trying to understand the weird and wonderful world of Dota II.
