Esports Camps arrives at Menlo College for the summer of 2019.

This week-long camp at Menlo College will feature the best esports games: League of Legends, Rocket League and Apex Legends! The daily curriculum is orchestrated to build individual and teamwork skills while also introducing each camper to new training exercises for the body and mind. Performance improvement will be the top priority throughout the week of camp but there will be a strong emphasis on interpersonal communication, competition, personal growth, and FUN!

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Team based groups of 5, with one coach per group
  • Top Level coaches ranking in the top % of the game
  • Focused on screen skill-development + physical and psychological training
  • 8 hours of both on and off computer instructions, drills and challenges
  • League UNLOCKED

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE:

9am: Warm Up (CS practice, hand exercises)

10am: Lesson: mental APM

11am: Team bonding: ARAMs

11:30am: Physical training & exercise

12:30pm: Lunch & free play (non-screen time with some Apex mixed in)

1:30pm: Class: How positivity wins you games

2:00pm: Lesson: Trusting your teammates

2:30pm: Drill: Input Buffering and Animation Cancelling

3pm: Competitive play, incorporating daily lessons

3:45pm: Headspace, cool down + dismissal (for day campers)

Coaches:

Camp Director - Head Coach of COGSWELL College

Alex Holler

A native of North Carolina, Holler earned his Bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University (Boone, N.C.) While at Appalachian State, Holler helped create the school's Esports club, App State Gaming, and also co-founded the Clash of the Carolinas Collegiate Esports Tournament. As a leader in the gaming community, Holler also assisted in running Florida Gulf Coast University's Eagle LAN. The success of these events and organizations earned him recognition from Blizzard as a top collegiate leader.
